Engaging and impacting next generation:

We are elate to share with you about what God is doing through our united effort. We named it “Operation rescue mission” with focus on “street children”. This brings hope on the street. In our last update, we promised to continue with weekly discipleship meetings to teach the Word of God and reach out to many, provide food every Sunday alongside basic needs, and train those who show commitment to Christ, to become peer leaders and future human resources for reaching others. In view of these, we solicited for continuous support and prayer for their spiritual growth, for God’s provision, and transformation of lives. See some pictures below

A STORY OF HOPE FROM THE STREET

A 21-year-old young man James had been living on the streets for over five years. Abandoned, addicted, a robber and a terror, he was among the children we met during our weekly outreach in downtown Yaoundé. Through consistent visits, meals, and time in the Word of God via Jesus Film Project in collaboration with you, James gave his life to Christ and established in his faith in Christ. Today, he’s living in a transition shelter, and leading missions with other boys.

He was among the 14 rescued who were empowered during the Jesus Film training organized with those whose lives have been impacted equally. On our field work, he quickly could identify with the short film ‘Invisible”. Being a street kid, he knew what he felt like to be rejected and stigmatized by society. He saw himself as one whom nothing good could come from because he was noted to be a dangerous guy expert in stealing and manipulation. During the practical session after his theoretical training on evangelism and discipleship using Jesus’s film tools, on the field in Yaoundé city, he shared his testimony during an evening of short film festival.  2 adult persons got interested with his transformational story and accepted Christ into their lives. Not only are they are abiding in the Lord and learning to become multiplying disciples, but many other lives are experiencing new hope found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Just immediately, after the training and the field experience in Yaoundé, him and his team of 10 young boys and girls that were trained had to go for mission in the rural area for two weeks. God use James and team members to share the gospel to more than 500 people and have about 150 accepted Jesus and planted a new Church. What marked us most was the way God used James to share the Gospel in his mother tongue to old people and put smiles in their faces.
James is just one of 100 increasing street children whose lives are being transformed through the gospel and God is using.
